Camp Pixie Dust Week 11-Stargazing week

Image
I can't believe this is the second to last week of camp! I hope you enjoyed this flitterific summer. I was saving the best two weeks for last (because I'm a light talent). Anyway, this week is about stargazing because I adore stars. And fun fact; I literally had a dream at the planetarium last night. School starting can be rough, but going stargazing can cheer you up. It's fun to print out a constellation chart and see which constellations you can find. Live in an area where there aren't much stars? If you can, you can try to go to an area with more stars. Or, you can simply go to a planetarium like I did in my dream. If you can't do any of those, then it's still fun to just study constellations or make star cookies. Now for some nostalgia; Camp Pixie Dust is an event that has stayed relatively the same over the years like all events, but there have been some changes in 2012 and 2013. In 2012, camp was divided into six two week sections. The first section wa

Camp Pixie Dust Week 10-Wilderness Explorer Week

Fly with you fairies! I can't believe Camp Pixie Dust is almost over! This week is Wilderness Explorer week. And the activity is to explore the outdoors. It can be the forest or a local park. I went to my local park a few times this summer and I even went camping, but I may go again. Alternatively, you can celebrate this week by watching Legend of the Neverbeast. In fact, the talents I'm connecting this week to are animal and scout talents. Remember exploring Pixie Hollow's wilderness? And fun fact; the Never Mine was actually in the Disney Fairies books before the online game. Now for nostalgia; we're going to talk about the different famous fairies that visited camp throughout the years. In 2010, the fab 5 did attend and they even wore their troop uniforms, but they mainly just attended Lyria shows. The only one that paid an official visit was Silvermist for the Summer Splash party. Slate also visited the ballroom for the Great Games. That was actually his first

Camp Pixie Dust 2018 Week 9-Camp Crafts

Well, it's time for one of my favorite parts of camp; crafts! 2013 had a Camp Craft Week and I thought this was a perfect idea which I've done last year too. Here are some summer craft ideas: "Magic" rocks: This one is very simple; you'd paint rocks and add glitter on them. You can put these stones in a jar and they'll look nice Glitter globe What you'd need: Small jar (you can paint the lid whichever color you'd want) Glitter Corn syrup Water Fill half the jar with corn syrup and half with water. Then, add the glitter. Screw the lid on tightly and shake the jar to see the pretty glittery colors! Friendship bracelets (you can keep these for yourselves too) : I've already posted about the traditional embroidery thread friendship bracelet. But there are other friendship bracelet ideas. These include stringing on beads or even threading buttons on a string. Pins : I have two ideas; a felt flower or an apple. For the flower, you&

This year, the party was supposed to be based off of a luau picture from the mainland. Iridessa and Silvermist even gave out leis that year. Silvermist visited the party every year. There was a quest about choosing the lucky fish in 201
