Snowflake's Postings-November 2019
Events
Week 1-The Pixie Hollow Games-Inspired by the mainland Olympics, the Pixie Hollow Games is held every four years. Each year, two members from each talent (not all participate every year) represent their guild in a series of events. The last place team after each event is eliminated. The overall standings are determined by a butterfly leaderboard.
Here are some of the sports:
Leapfrogging-Fairies race on frogs that leap over each other
Dragonfly water skiing-The team that makes it the fastest around a series of obstacles in the water wins
Twig Spheres-One teammate is on top of the sphere moving it while the other is inside guiding the one on top. Teams race to make it to the middle and back first.
Mouse polo-It's basically like mainland lacrosse but on mice. Two teams compete at a time and the judging is tournament style.
Teacup Challenge-It's a high speed race inside clumsy teacups
Pixie Cart Derby-This is the final event where the final four teams race. The race begins on single file based on the standings. The only way to get ahead is to take a chance. Each chance is a shortcut, but if they fail, that team is out of the race.
The go carts are only a recent addition to the games added in the industrial revolution. Back then, fairies raced on the backs of animals. The go carts allowed the garden fairies to win their games. They were the first team in history to win after starting from last place. They were also the first team to make it past Mudslide Mountain.
Other sports include Honeycomb Hunt, Slug Slide and Tug of War. The number of events depends on the number of teams participating.
Week 2-Autumn Revelry-The revelry is a celebration that culminates the end of autumn and it's held in Harvest Promenade.
Week 3-Sister Celebration-This event was held in Pixie Hollow to promote the Secret of the Wings film, but the real purpose of this event is to celebrate how warm fairies could visit the winter woods, something that was discovered by sisters Tink and Periwinkle. Because of this, there are celebrations in Evergreen Overlook and Sunflower Gully for both warm and winter fairies.
Week 4-Fairy Feast-The Fairy Feast is the final event of autumn and one of the biggest. Fairies donate food to the giant cornucopia in the Pumpkin Patch. The food is used by the kitchen fairies to bake delicious treats not just for the feast, but for winter. Here's a quick history of the fairy feast.
The event was called the Autumn Jubilee in 2008 and players were encouraged to donate their ingredients to the cornucopia. While ingredient donation was removed by 2009's feast, players still got to do an event quest and enjoy the banquet table at Acorn Summit. Start in 2010 players could actually help prepare soup and cake. Cake tables were added in 2011 and a theatre kitchen in 2012.

This is actually a Great Games outfit, even though the Pixie Hollow Games and Great Games are NOT the same thing.
And for the revelry, wear something autumnish. Here's my favorite revelry look:
While not quite winter, a lot of fairies love to dress up warmly for the Sister Celebration. Sparkly clothing is also flitterific for that event. And for the Fairy Feast, you can either wear a chef outfit or something a bit more formal.
