Camp Pixie Dust Week #7-Camp Craft Week

Last week, Zarina hosted Alchemy week. This week, Bess will host Arts and Crafts week. To celebrate this week, you can draw or do a craft while watching a movie or something. I like to make crafts to decorate my room with.

Here are some Disney Fairies crafts. I got each of them from my old Disney Fairies magazines.

Mushroom bookmark

Supplies: 3 different colors of paper, cardboard, pencil, glue, scissors, anything you'd like to use to decorate your mushroom

Steps:
1. Sketch and cut out a mushroom cap on one piece of paper and cut it out. Trace the cap on another paper and draw circles on that one. Cut this one out. You should have one plain mushroom cap and another one in a different color with holes in it. Sketch and cut out a mushroom stem on the third piece of paper (preferably a natural color).

2. Glue the stem and the plain mushroom cap on a sheet of cardboard and cut it out

3. Glue the holed mushroom cap on the plain one. Lastly, glue the mushroom cap on the stem.

Flower basket

Supplies: Small plastic cup, construction paper of any color, 2 different colors of tissue paper, glue, green pipe cleaner, masking tape

Steps:
1. Cut a series of rectangles a bit taller thanthe height of the plastic cup. Cut a fringe on them. Glue the rectangles around the cup fringe side facing up. Continue until the cup is covered with the paper.

2. Cut petals out of one tissue paper color. that are taller than the cup (including the fringe). Glue them around the cup.

3. Do the same with another tissue paper color. Glue these petals in between the petals of the other color.

4. Use the tape to attach both ends of the pipe cleaner inside the basket.

You can make different mushrooms and baskets in different colors.

Turtle good luck charm

Supplies: Green sponge, black marker, half a walnut shell, scissors, glue

Steps:
1. Place the walnut shell on the sponge. Use it to draw the turtle's head and legs. Carefully cut out the turtle shape.

2. Glue the shell on the turtle. Hold it down for a few seconds.

3. Draw the turtle's care and claws

4. Make a small cut in the turtle's belly. Slip a tiny rolled up piece of paper with your wish. This cute little turtle will give you good luck and will help your dreams come true.

Optional tip: Use a needle to cut holes in the turtle's front feet. Slide a string through it to put the turtle in a cute necklace.

Kaleidoscope of the Four Seasons

Supplies: Cardstock, clear plastic, tape, something to decorate the kaleidoscope with, something to put in the kaleidoscope

Steps:
1. Cut a 6 by 4 inch rectangle out of the cardstock. Put the plastic on one side of the rectangle and fold it into three sections. Fold the rectangle into a triangle tube (plastic part in) and tape it into place.

2. Sketch a triangle that's the same as the one on the tube opening on another piece of cardstock. Draw tabs on the sides and cut out the shape. Fold the tabs upward (so it looks like a trey) and tape it to the bottom of the tube. Drop in the treasures you want to put in.

Here are some treasure ideas:
  • Flower petals for spring
  • Gold sequins or green leaves for summer
  • Acorn caps or tiny leaves for fall
  • Silver, light blue or white beads for winter
You can drop in anything you want.

3. Decorate the tube however you want. You can use glitter, stickers, or things you've printed out on the Internet.

Again, all these crafts are created by Disney Fairies. I love those ideas and I really wanted to share them with the Pixie Hollow community.

And of course, here's a badge (sorry it isn't my best, I was a little rushed making it):

Just to remind you, I won't be posting next week as I'll be too busy with my family. But next week will be Adventure Week (hosted by Tinkerbell). It's a good time to go on adventures (even in your own neighborhood). I'll post next week's badge as well as the stuff for the week after on the 7th of August.
