2017 Purple Moon Festival

Purple...moon...WHAT?

Well, the famous fairy pixie party outfits from 2013 were actually what they wore to the purple moon party. I decided to create an event based on that (at the same time as the FairyABC moon festival)

The purple moon rises approximately every year usually around summer and fall. This year, it'll be this week. On that night, first a red moon will rise. It'll become orange, yellow, green, blue (not as vibrant as the blue harvest moon) and finally purple. It's a celebration of friendship.

Activity: Put on your best party dress and just wear it around the hollow. Extra points if it's purple (I really need to get my purple party dress on!). Maybe you can wear it to one of the FairyABC moon festival parties.

And of course, it's a good time to celebrate your friends! Here's a badge I created for doing so. I decided to add scepters to the badge because if the blue moon gets a scepter than the purple moon should too!

 
But wait...there's more!

Did you know that a blue moon will rise at the end of autumn this year? Well, it's eight years after 2009's revelry (wow, it's been that long?) Even though we're more focused on the purple moon right now, we need to prepare for the blue moon revelry. If you have the Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure DS game, play it. But if you don't, I still have revelry badges for you. I'll be posting these badges periodically throughout these blog posts.

  The holiday season has begun with November! Events Week 1-The Pixie Hollow Games -Inspired by the mainland Olympics, the Pixie Hollow Games is held every four years. Each year, two members from each talent (not all participate every year) represent their guild in a series of events. The last place team after each event is eliminated. The overall standings are determined by a butterfly leaderboard.  Here are some of the sports: Leapfrogging-Fairies race on frogs that leap over each other Dragonfly water skiing-The team that makes it the fastest around a series of obstacles in the water wins Twig Spheres-One teammate is on top of the sphere moving it while the other is inside guiding the one on top. Teams race to make it to the middle and back first. Mouse polo-It's basically like mainland lacrosse but on mice. Two teams compete at a time and the judging is tournament style.
