Camp Pixie Dust Week 10-Wilderness Explorer Week

Fly with you fairies! I can't believe Camp Pixie Dust is almost over! This week is Wilderness Explorer week. And the activity is to explore the outdoors. It can be the forest or a local park. I went to my local park a few times this summer and I even went camping, but I may go again.

Alternatively, you can celebrate this week by watching Legend of the Neverbeast. In fact, the talents I'm connecting this week to are animal and scout talents.

Remember exploring Pixie Hollow's wilderness? And fun fact; the Never Mine was actually in the Disney Fairies books before the online game.

Now for nostalgia; we're going to talk about the different famous fairies that visited camp throughout the years. In 2010, the fab 5 did attend and they even wore their troop uniforms, but they mainly just attended Lyria shows. The only one that paid an official visit was Silvermist for the Summer Splash party. Slate also visited the ballroom for the Great Games. That was actually his first visit. And here's a fun fact; some of the famous fairies wore their camp uniform even after camp ended. Also in 2010, the pixie pals were introduced (they were called camp counselors).

The counselors also visited in 2012. They visited in 2011 but they were called coaches since it was Sports Camp. In 2011 and 2012 during each of the themed sections, each of the famous fairies paid a ballroom visit. I remember during the last section of 2012 when Iridessa was visiting and Vidia made a surprise appearance. She was mad that there wasn't any section for the fast flying troop (troop dragon).

Unfortunately, there were barely any famous fairy visits in 2013. The only ones were a Tink visit for the Summer Splash party (she was wearing Rosetta's summer splash dress) and a Tink and Silvermist visit to celebrate the pixie party outfits and dolls. They were wearing their party dresses. The pixie pals visited alongside the famous fairies.

I'm also going to talk about camp badges from the past when Pixie Hollow was open. Of course, every year there was the sign up badge. In 2010, a new badge was added every week and you had the entire summer to earn these badges:

Summer Beach Ball Party-Bounce the beach ball in the ballroom
Summer Camp Theatre-See a Lyria play while wearing your camp shirt
Summerlicious S'mores-Personal bake five s'mores
Summer Sewing-Personal tailor five canteens
Camp Activities-Interact with a camp activity six times
Summer Camp Butterfly Painting-Play Butterfly Painter while wearing your camp shirt
Camp Cabin-Put a tent in your home
Summer Tinkering-Personal tinker five leaf boats

The Summer Camp Theatre badge returned every year. In 2011 in each section, you'd earn a badge by playing a certain talent game while wearing your camp shirt. They were only available during a certain section. In 2012, the s'mores badge returned and in each section, you'd win a certain badge by playing a certain minigame five times. In 2013, you'd get a badge by having five fairies wearing a certain troop shirt use that troop's emote in that troop's meadow. These badges were available for the entire summer. And in each section, you'd receive a badge by doing the activity related to that section. The camp challenge winners would also earn an honors badge for that challenge.

And to close this post, here's a Troop Rabbit tale from 2012.

Now, everyone knows that rabbits are lively.
They love to adventure, daily and nightly!
One evening some rabbits hopped in the forest,
As they hopped they called out in chorus.
Then, they heard a shushing sound.
It came from a mama owl, her babies all around.
"The owlets are trying to sleep!" she hooted.
The rabbits didn't know it was the owlet's bedtime!
"Sorry!" they said, "We'll find another way to talk."
So they decided to wiggle noses as they walked!
One wiggle meant "this way," two meant "catch up."
Now, when they're out at night, they're silent as can be.
They'll never disturb a sleeping baby!
When you see pixies in Rabbit Troop scamper past you,
Wiggle your nose to say hello, just like they do!

And a badge:
