Purple Moon Festival 2018

It's time; time for the Purple Moon Festival! If you don't know what this is, it's an event I created based on an actual Pixie Hollow event that was mentioned back in 2013.

The purple moon rises every year, usually in the summer or fall. This special celebration varies depending on the area celebrated though. During this festival, a red moon rises. Then an orange moon, than yellow, than green, than teal, than blue, than it turns purple in midnight.

This celebration represents friendship. The purple moon actually represents the equivalent of homecoming in many magic schools. Dances are usually held in and out of these schools and many wear purple for these outfits.

A fun idea for this week is to write a story about the Purple Moon.

  The holiday season has begun with November! Events Week 1-The Pixie Hollow Games -Inspired by the mainland Olympics, the Pixie Hollow Games is held every four years. Each year, two members from each talent (not all participate every year) represent their guild in a series of events. The last place team after each event is eliminated. The overall standings are determined by a butterfly leaderboard.  Here are some of the sports: Leapfrogging-Fairies race on frogs that leap over each other Dragonfly water skiing-The team that makes it the fastest around a series of obstacles in the water wins Twig Spheres-One teammate is on top of the sphere moving it while the other is inside guiding the one on top. Teams race to make it to the middle and back first. Mouse polo-It's basically like mainland lacrosse but on mice. Two teams compete at a time and the judging is tournament style. Before I proceed with this thing, I have an announcement to make! At around the dawn of the new year, I posted that I'd no longer be doing event posts here, only monthly horoscopes. So for the second half of 2017 and all of 2018, I did event related posts here in an inconsistent pattern, but for a few months I posted every week. I decided to stop the event blog posts because I've already done all the event nostalgia stuff and I was kind of bored of doing those things so frequently. But I realized that life needs more excitement and festivity. I've loved holidays as a child, and I still celebrate most of them even as a teenager. But some have faded away from excitement like Valentine's Day. At school I've overheard a few people complaining about how many holidays aren't as fun anymore.
