HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!!

Haha! Belated April Fools (I meant to post this yesterday)! Okay...the reason why I did this "joke" is because April 1st was originally the new year. In fact, April Fools Day on the mainland originated when the new year changed when the calendar changed, but some still thought April 1st was the new year, because there was no social media back then.

Any way, let's begin the April post.

April Events

If you didn't already guess by the banner, April is Pink Moon month this year. The pink moon rises in Pixie Hollow every year sometime between February and April. This moon is a representation of spring and hope. While it is a myth that fairies grant wishes, they've still brought hope and belief to children since ancient times, and they used to use pink pixie dust to help inspire children.Pink pixie dust is created from the pink moonstone (similar to the blue one, but a bit less rare and doesn't require a scepter).

Even though fairies interact with children less than they used to, the pink moon is still celebrated, though collecting pink pixie dust isn't as big of a tradition. However, Tink has a quest on bringing back the ancient tradition in a whole new way. The reward would be a pink tiara to wear to the celebration. The Fairy Circle and Havendish would also be decorated. And later, there would be collectable pink pixie dust (similar to the collectable blue dust back in 2009).

You HAVE to wear pink! Sure, any color is welcome for the pink moon Fairy Dance, but it has always been a tradition to wear pink (like I'm wearing on the banner).


Event activity

The purple moon is all about dreams coming true. Write down a list of your desires. If some of them are actually doable, think of the steps that would be taken to achieve it.


Now that we got the pink moon which lasts the whole month, here are some more events:

Mermaid Party-4/2 to 14

The silliness continues with the mermaid party. The idea for this event began on one Silly Days when the mermaids decided to prank the fairies. This has since been a celebration of fairies and mermaids pranking each other. This fun has created some respect for once between the fairies and the mermaids. That's when the Mermaid Party was created. It's a time for fairies and mermaids to celebrate each other (even though fairies do a better job).

Fairies want to learn a bit more about the mermaids this year while traveling to Mermaid Grotto rather than just obtaining gifts. I'll see if I can find anything and I'll post it to you on May's monthly at the latest, but if I find it earlier I'll post it on FairyABC.

If you're ever visiting Mermaid Grotto, you may want a disguise. Here are some flitterific ideas:

The Strawberry Skirt at Summit Style is flitterific for a mermaid look! And here's a fun fact; Snowflake is actually a merfairy! Her older sister silver is also a merfairy. It is unknown exactly how merfairies are born, but many speculate that it may have to do with the fairy's laugh passing through mermaid song in the night.

So...yeah, in order for Snowflake and Silver to take their mermaid form, they just get in the water. Their wings don't even get wet! The fairies got their magic from a shell necklace that was given to each of them one morning, but they found out that they can still be in their merfairy form without the necklace.


Never Dove Egg Hunt-4/15 to 21

This event is a tradition that celebrates the never doves, good friends of the fairies. This event also celebrates the birth of spring. For this very fun event, animal talents paint pebbles to look like never dove eggs and hide them. This year, Fawn would have a quest on making chocolate never doves (mmmmmm!)

• Spring Breeze Green

This is my egg hunt outfit. I got it from an actual Pixie Hollow look from the first egg hunt in 2009 and I think it's SO cute!!!!!! I added a lot of flowery accessories for spring. But wearing a look inspired by birds is fun too.


Event activity

Paint eggs! I still dye eggs every year and I do a different theme. This year, I'll attempt to recreate some of the Pixie Hollow eggs. Painted eggs could be a flitterific decoration idea. Another thing I do every year is make spring sugar cookies using flower, chick, bunny and egg cookie cutters.

Nature Days-4/22 to 28

Nature is very important to us fairies. It always has been. That's why we hold this celebration to honor nature not just in Pixie Hollow, but on the mainland too.

Event activity

We all need to do our part to help the environment and celebrate nature. Here are some ideas:

• Go for a cleanup walk on the beach or some other area. Pick up any trash you find. Remember what goes in the trash and what goes in recycling.
• Take a walk to a place that's a mile or less away instead of driving there. You can ride a bike too.
• Think of growing a garden in your backyard. You can grow flowers, food or anything. If you can't do that, plant something in an indoor plant arrangement or even a milk carton. 
• Create a goal on conserving water
• Try to go an entire evening WITHOUT turning on the lights to prevent ice caps from melting. If you really can't stand darkness, use battery powered lights or even candles! Also, save electricity by turning off the TV or computer when not using them
• Learn about an endangered species and try to find a way to save them.
• Draw a picture of your favorite things in nature

Formally Spring-4/29 to 5/5

This time of year is a relaxing time for fairies because spring is on the mainland. So why not celebrate with a DANCE PARTY?

I plan to make event badges because many of you seem to like them. I won't do a badge for every event, but for some of them. I'll post my badges on the FairyABC forum as the events come. 



Monthly Activity

Because April is National Poetry Month, this month's activity is to write a poem or two. Fun poetry ideas include limericks, acrostic poems and haikus. 

Full Moon Information

While in Pixie Hollow, the pink moon can appear any time from February to April (because it's Neverland), the full moon in April is always called the pink moon on the mainland. The pink moon is also about spring arriving and the first buds.

 Pixie Horoscope

Aries- This month, expect powerful new beginnings and new ideas. This month will also be a powerful one in terms of connections with other people. There may be an uncomfortable truth in those connections, but it will be impactful. This month should also be an energetic one.

Taurus (Happy Birthday!)-This month, there may be motivation to own things, such as money or more stability. This is a good time to take action to achieve those things. There may also be a powerful moment in work or school.

Gemini-This month should be full of energy and motivation. It’s a good time to try new social activities or express yourself. This is also a month of friendliness towards other people as well as creativity.

Cancer-The earlier part of this month will help you feel young again. Unfortunately, action and passion will be behind the scenes as opposed to actually happening. Luckily, the home life should be powerful and harmonious.

Leo-This month, expect some energy to just run around and have childlike fun. April will be great for imagination and new adventure. This month will also be great for self expression.

Virgo-This month will be great for energy and productivity when working towards a long term goal, so it’s a good time to do so. You may even find ways to earn money or general stability.

Libra-This month should be a fun and energetic one. You may make a new friend this month. Interactions with others should be harmonious. A powerful moment similar to that of last month should also happen.

Scorpio-This month should be one of will power. It’s a good time to take action. There should be imagination and maybe a connection to magic as well.

Sagittarius-This month won’t be the most harmonious in one on one interaction with others. Try to be careful not to be too aggressive. April should produce an interaction focused on the heart rather than the head. You may want to look for new connections with people, but try to be careful when interacting.

Capricorn-There should be energy in work or school. Try not to be too aggressive, but luckily, this may lead to productiveness. Powerful benefits towards goals should continue though.

Aquarius-This month should be one of thinking. There should be tons of energy and motivation to think and communicate. Interesting thoughts won’t just come from imagination, but from logic as well. April should also create harmonious relations with people and things.

Pieces-The home life might be a bit more aggressive and less harmonious this month. Thoughts should be deep and there may be some psychic moments though.
